Stargazing

There are no street lights here and no neighbours' lights. On a clear night, switch off the courtyard lamps and the Milky Way is overhead — that is becoming rare.

What you can see

On a clear night: the moon, several planets, the Milky Way and the brighter constellations. Straight ahead from the courtyard is north, west is to your left, east to your right — useful for finding your bearings.

You can observe from sunset until sunrise; the darker the sky, the more you see.

The telescope

We have a telescope with motorised tracking that can be connected to a phone or camera. Please handle it gently, and let children use it with an adult. If you are unsure, ask us or read the manual.

If it is damaged, the replacement cost is charged at the purchase price — we mention this in advance.

Tips

Turn the courtyard lights off ten minutes early so your eyes can adapt, and bring a jacket: mountain evenings are cool.
