Mingquan Guesthouse

Location

We are at No. 9, Shengdi Village, Shenxi, Baofu, Anji County, Huzhou, Zhejiang. Follow the Shenwang Road along the Shenxi stream and you will arrive.

The house sits at about 306 m, roughly the same altitude as Moganshan. Further up, Longwang Mountain reaches 1,587 m, the highest peak in northern Zhejiang.

The road at our door follows the stream: Shenxi Canyon rafting is 2.2 km away, five minutes by car; the Shenxi rock field 3 km; the Zhebei Grand Canyon 15 km, about 25 minutes.

Shenxi has not been heavily developed. The hills are the original hills and the water is the original water — a good place to be quiet for a few days.

About this valley

On the map, the blue line running past the house is the Shenxi. The water comes down from the ridge, into the Laoshikan reservoir, and eventually into the Huangpu River in Shanghai.

Towers go up in a few years; scenery like this takes hundreds of millions. You are welcome to bring rubbish back to the courtyard and we will take it out every morning. Please leave no glass or plastic in the hills or by the stream, and make sure cigarettes and matches are completely out: fire is the one thing this valley cannot afford.
